Hadfield said as soon as the report was verified, administrators immediately removed the employee from the building.
UPDATE: Officers interviewed the employee, Jesse W. Devore, 30, of Sunrise Beach. Devore was arrested and charged on Wed., Mar. 13 with a felony of sexual misconduct involving a child under the age of 15. His bond is $500,000 cash only.
An employee of the Camdenton School District is under investigation after allegedly being caught in a restroom of an elementary building engaging in a lewd act.
According to Superintendent Tim Hadfield, on March 12 it was reported to building administration at Oak Ridge Intermediate School, that a support staff member was engaged in a lewd act in a restroom.
Hadfield said as soon as the report was verified, administrators immediately removed the employee from the building. Law enforcement was notified of the report and an investigation ensued.
“The district takes these matters seriously in order to protect our students. We are fully cooperating with the Camdenton City Police Department regarding this matter,” Hadfield said. Additional information will be released through the police department.
Hadfield said parents of students were notified on Wednesday through the district’s notification system.
Camdenton Police Chief Laura Wright confirmed that no students were physically involved.
On Tuesday, March 12th at approx. 3:20 PM Officers with the Camdenton Police Department were called to the Oak Ridge Intermediate School and began investigating a claim of Sexual Misconduct of a male employee in the restroom.
Officers interviewed the employee and who was subsequently arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold.
The report was forwarded to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday for a request of charges. The investigation is ongoing.
