Upon searching the residence, officers located various illegal drugs including marijuana and methamphetamine.

A registered sex offender residing too close to a school or child care facility was arrested and charged.

According to a press release, Camden County deputies and personnel from Probation and Parole responded to an apartment located in the 800 block of West US Highway 54 in Camdenton reference checking on Justin S. Lucas, 33, of Camdenton and a registered sex offender on Wed., Feb. 20. Upon searching the residence, officers located various illegal drugs including marijuana and methamphetamine. Officers contacted the children’s division of DSS because two children were in the home where they had access to the drugs.

As part of Lucas’s sex offender stipulations, he is not loiter within 500 feet of a daycare and not to reside within 1,000 feet of a daycare. He violated that restriction based on where he was living.

Lucas was arrested and taken to the Camden County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with a Class D felony of possession of controlled substance, Class E felony of residing within 1,000 feet of school or child care facility-prior offender, Class A misdemeanor of possession of marijuana-prior drug offense and Class A misdemeanor of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia-prior drug offense.

Lucas’s bond is $25,000 surety or $2500 cash bond.
