The name pays homage to it’s ties to the lake venue with a similar name.

The Fish & Co. Out of Water is offering up a similar menu and a fun, laid back atmosphere found at their original location. The restaurant and bar in Camdenton has only been open for a few months but is already developing daily specials and entertainment.

Fish & Co. Out of Water is located at 1165 North Business Route 5.

Shea McGinnitey, General Manager of Fish & Company Out of Water, said Blue noticed the need for unique food when he was with his family.

“Dale and his family had nowhere to go for food. They live by the Fish and everything that’s on the water is closed in the wintertime. So it’s closer for them to come to Camdenton than it is for them to go all the way to Osage Beach.”

Blue took to social media to ask the community what they thought about having more food choices in Camdenton.

The feedback was incredible. McGinnitey said it started as an idea but the response was huge. Based on what the responses were on social media, locals were looking for something new and different so they decided to give it a try.

The start of the business “just unfolded and laid in his lap,” as McGinnitey put it. The choice to open a second restaurant was a three-month-last-minute decision. “There were multiple times they worked 18 hours trying to get it together,” McGinnitey recalled.

Blue hopes the venue serves as a catalyst to renew interest in that area of Camdenton.  McGinnitey said, “There’s a special place in his heart for the restaurant on this side of Camdenton. Seeing all the failing businesses is sad. He wants to be a part of getting this whole side of Camdenton flourishing again.”

Blue and McGinnitey are already seeing a need for more room.

“People have had to wait over 40 minutes just to even get a table,” McGinnitey said. “So he [Blue] is talking about putting an outside patio in the front and possibly expanding. We just try to listen to the people and see what they want and need and go from there.”

The menu offers up everything from salads to fish with daily specials.
