Karen Ann Brittain, age 74, of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, formerly of Laurie, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at her son’s home. She was born August 7, 1944, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, the daughter of the late Alex and Agatha (Bohling) Raeth.

Karen owned Chances ‘R’ Restaurant in Laurie for eighteen years.

She was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie.

She is survived by her sons, Ken Maehren and wife Kris of St. Cloud, Minnesota and Jason Tewell and wife Elizabeth of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Justin Maehren, Lucas Maehren, Mickaela Maehren, Alex Tewell and Austin Tewell; brothers, Bob Raeth and wife Judy of Camdenton, Missouri and Ron Raeth of Sun City, Arizona and many other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie with Father John Schmitz celebrating.  The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the church.  Inurnment will be held at a later date.
