A well-known former Sunrise Beach business owner has passed away weeks after being seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Camden County.

According to an obituary supplied by Cahill Funeral Chapel of Sisseton, S.D., Daniel J. Laubach passed away Dec. 30, 2018. Services will be held in South Dakota on Jan. 12, 2019. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Franky & Louie’s from 12-5 p.m. March 3, 2019. The restaurant is located 1024 Deer Valley Rd., Sunrise Beach.

The Sisseton native made a name for himself at Lake of the Ozarks, specifically Sunrise Beach, as an entrepreneur. He is a former owner of Franky & Louie’s Bar & Grill and adjacent Deer Valley Park Campground.

In lieu of flowers and gifts to family, the obituary directs memorials to either Grace Lutheran Church in Sisseton or the American Legion in Sunrise Beach.

Laubach is survived by siblings, nieces, nephews and other extended family.
