A woman was hospitalized and a man arrested in an alleged domestic assault shooting near Eldon on New Year’s Eve.
According to a press release from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a report of a shooting on Sandstone Road just before midnight Dec. 31, 2018. Upon arrival, the officers found a female victim with a gunshot wound to her lower extremities. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
Deputies identified the shooter as Thomas J. Stogsdill Jr. of Eldon, the press release stated. The 42-year-old man was arrested and transported to the sheriff’s office for further questioning. He has subsequently been charged by the Miller County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with second degree domestic assault, a Class D felony; unlawful use of a weapon, a Class E felony, and armed criminal action, an Unclassified felony.
Stogsdill is being held at the Miller County Adult Detention Center in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
