Janice Evelyn Turner, age 79 went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2018 at Kansas City Hospice House.  

Janice was born in McCrory, Arkansas on May 17, 1939 to Rupert and Jewell (Fink) Chadwick.  She grew up in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.  

She moved to Kansas City at the age of 16.  She married the love of her life, Charles “Sonny” Jasper Turner on October 27, 1956.  They began their life together having three girls, five grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.  Janice was an accomplished seamstress and poodle groomer.  

She did many jobs to insure she was an excellent mother and grandmother.  

She enjoyed the Lake of the Ozarks with her family and friends.  Sonny and Janice built a home in Sunrise Beach, MO to enjoy on weekends and retired there in 1999.  

­They enjoyed boating, skiing, and quality time with family and friends. 

Janice was a devout follower of Christ, spreading his word to all she knew.  

She was an active member at First Baptist Church of Sunrise Beach, MO.  

Janice was preceded in death by her parents Rupert and Jewell Chadwick, beloved husband Charles “Sonny” Turner, sisters: Chris (Ronald) Alexander, Sharon Adams, brother: Gene (Dorothy) Chadwick, and daughter Connie Jo Turner.  She is survived by her daughters Linda (Ron) Curd and Darla Turner, grandchildren: Misty Hendren, Christy Turner, Rachel (Zach) Wood, April (Chris) Watkins, and Brian (Ashley) Curd, and great grandchildren: Mickayla, Marcus, Emma, Dominic, Lily, Gavin, Kadence, Turner, Madison, Hunter, Brantley, and Baby Wood, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. 

Services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2pm at First Baptist Church of Sunrise Beach.

 The Turner family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri for their attentiveness and loving care.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Janice’s name to First Baptist Church of Sunrise Beach.
