For the last few weeks, the members of Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Lake Ozark have been organizing and raising funds to provide Thanksgiving Dinner for those in need. Parishioner and Hope House volunteer, Tim McDermott, saw a need and wanted to fill. He approached Msgr. Marion Makarewicz who gave him the go ahead to spearhead the campaign. Tim contacted Osage Beach HyVee manager, Mark Mahalj, who helped with providing reduced priced turkey and fixings and delivery to Hope House. Parishioners generously gave to cover the cost for dinner for 200 families, which is about half of what Hope House gives out on a normal Thanksgiving. The Knights of Columbus from Our Lady helped unload the truck and pack the boxes which contain a turkey, stuffing mix, potatoes, gravy mix, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, apples, and oranges. We are blessed by the opportunity to share with our brothers and sisters.
