Lake Career and Technical Center (LCTC) hosted its Student of the Month luncheon on Oct. 17, 2018. Two students, Marilyn Kline and Coleman Warren were selected as the recipients.

Coleman Warren, a senior at Camdenton High School and LCTC Marine Power and Extreme Sports student, was nominated by instructor Scott Miller.  Mr. Miller stated, “Cole is one of the leaders in his class and goes above and beyond to help anyone who needs help. He has volunteered his time to assist with the LCTC car show and Walk to End Alzheimer event. He is serving as the LCTC chapter vice president of SkillsUSA South Central District and also serving as the treasurer for the SkillsUSA South Central district.”  Coleman serves as a LCTC student ambassador and placed 2nd in the 2018 State Skills USA marine technology contest. Upon his high school graduation, he plans to attend State Technical College.  Coleman is the son of Melissa and Jerry Ahrens.

Marilyn Kline, a senior at Camdenton High School and LCTC Allied Health Science student, was nominated by instructor Shelly Bonds.  Mrs. Bonds stated, “Marilyn is a senior in the Allied Health class.  She obtained her CNA last year as a junior.  She is an A+ tutor in my Health Science class and helps the CNA students become competent in the 64 basic patient care skills required for the MO State exam.  Her natural leadership and love for Health Science makes her the perfect candidate to represent the Health Science program for student of the month.  The students are inspired by her and look up to her as an example in academics, leadership, and being a team player.”  Marilyn volunteered her time to help with the school district kindergarten screening and the blood drive.  She plans to attend East Central College upon graduation to become an RN and then on to be a Nurse Practitioner.  Marilyn is the daughter of Kristi and Ray Kline.
