Minnie Fern Burns, daughter of Reverend William Patrick and Lucinda Rogers Webster, was born, November 13, 1935 in Camden County, Missouri. She departed this life, October 29, 2018, in her home, at the age of eighty-two years.
On May 15, 1954 in Goshen, Indiana, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, J.D Burns and to this union six children were born. Together they shared sixty-four years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jerry Burns; her grandson, Jeromy; her granddaughter, Jonie; two sisters, Rosie McGuire and Lillian Burns and four brothers, Clarence “Bug” Webster, Dane Webster, Roy Webster, Lee “Pete” Webster.
She is survived by her husband, J.D Burns of the home; her children, Wesley and Rhonda Burns of Lebanon, Wayne and Trisha Burns of Eldridge, Linda and Marlan Myers of Lebanon, David and Karen Burns of Holt Summit, Darrell Burns of Lebanon and George Rooffener of Eldridge; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; daughter-in-law, Karen Shoemaker of Camdenton as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Fern was raised in the Camden County area and attended Pleasant Hill School. Fern had worked at Blair Cedar for around eleven years before driving a school bus for Camdenton R-III Schools for over fifteen years. Everyone that met Fern loved her.
Fern had been saved at an early age and was a lifelong member of Webster Grove Missionary Baptist Church, which her dad had built. Fern shared her love for our Lord Jesus Christ with many.
Fern has blessed so many with precious memories that they will treasure forever.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2018 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Decaturville. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday evening in the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Horeb Cemetery and left at the funeral home.
