The Miller County Sheriff's Office received information about human remains in a rural area of Miller County on June 11, 2018.
A Chicago man is awaiting extradition to Miller County to face murder charges in the death of a man from the state of California whose remains were found earlier this year in a rural area of the county.
On Monday, Sept. 24, the Miller County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release that Joseph P. Mckenna was taken into custody without incident for murder.
The Miller County Sheriff’s Office received information about human remains in a rural area of Miller County on June 11, 2018. The Miller County Sheriff’s Office, with help from the Missouri Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control, launched an investigation.
The death was ruled a homicide and the remains were identified as Tyler J. Worthington from the state of California.
Miller County Prosecutor Ben Winfrey issued an arrest warrant for Mckenna based off of information and witness statements gathered during the investigation.
Mckenna is being held on a $750,000 bond for second degree murder and is awaiting extradition.
