The driver in a motor vehicle crash Wednesday morning on S. Missouri Highway 7 was subsequently arrested for drug possession.

Jaime D. Presley received injuries described as minor in the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. The 38-year-old was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital following the one-vehicle wreck around 10:40 a.m. August 15, 2018 on Highway 7 south of Carroll Cave. 

According to MSHP arrest reports, Presley was arrested for possession of methamphetamine (less than one gram), no insurance, failure to wear seatbelt and possession of drug paraphernalia at 11:20 a.m. The Richland woman was released to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment.

Presley was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe north when the SUV began to slide and went off the right side of the roadway, the crash report stated. The vehicle struck a tree and overturned.

Brett Shepard, 36, of Lake Ozark was a passenger in the SUV and sustained injuries described as minor. He refused medical treatment at the scene. 

The report indicated neither of the occupants was wearing a seatbelt.

The SUV was totaled and was towed from the scene.
