Q. Why are you running for this position?

A.. I am running for this position for several reasons. One being that I am a life long resident of Camden County, and I want to give back to my community.  Another reason I am running is to bring the working parts of the courthouse together.  I think the citizens and probably many elected officials are tired of the discourse.  I want to effectively communicate with all offices in the courthouse.  Even if we disagree, we can disagree respectfully.

Q. What are the job responsibilities for the county clerk’s office?

A.. The County Clerk is to monitor and run fair and honest elections.  The County Clerk is also the keeper of records.  It is important to keep the records organized well, and it is important for the Clerk to have the records readily available to citizens that request documents, as allowed by law.

Q. What should voters know about you in order to make an informed decision?

A.. I am an honest and fair family man.  My wife Christi and I have have 3 children, Levi, Wyatt, and Jolee.  We have 3 grandchildren.  I am in business with my dad doing cattle for ourselves, as well as other farms that have us manage or organize their cattle operations.  We also put up farm fences.  I pride myself on my word and my work.  I think the citizens will be happy with my willingness to work with everyone and my willingness to solve problems quickly and effectively.

Q. In recent years there have been conflicts among various elected officials in the Camden County Courthouse. In your opinion, how can those conflicts be resolved so county government can move forward?  In your opinion, how can those conflicts be resolved so county government can move forward?

A..I think it is important for the citizens and the others working in the courthouse to be able to trust me.  I will be clear but not argumentative with my opinions and goals for the office.  It makes a big difference if you trust someone.  I will work hard to gain everyone's trust, and from then on work with each department effectively to better the courthouse and Camden County.

Q. If elected what will be the first item on your list of changes?

A..My first order of business would be to contact and meet with each department in the courthouse. I want to set up a good relationship with an open line of communication with each department so that we can get down to the business of Camden County quickly.  The citizens are ready for this I believe.
