A Plattsburg man was arrested in Miller County Saturday after a high-speed pursuit that began outside the county.

Brandon Mencik was arrested on a felony outstanding warrant with a $40,000 cash-only bond out of Clinton County. The 36-year-old has also now been charged in Miller County with felony resisting arrest. He is being held at the Miller County jail on a $10,000 bond.

According to a press release from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office, Miller County Communications received a report of a pursuit traveling north on Highway 17 entering Miller County from Pulaski County. Crocker Police were pursuing a vehicle due to felony warrants for the driver’s arrest.

Miller County deputies responded to the area and took the lead in the pursuit just north of Iberia. 

The pursuit reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour, the press release stated. 

A state trooper with the Missouri State Highway Patrol was able to successfully deploy spike sticks and deflate one of the vehicle’s tires. The vehicle continued though about another mile before deputies were able to stop it.
