The 40th Annual HK’s Hospital Benefit Golf Tournament, held June 1–3 at The Lodge of Four Seasons, raised $124,200. All proceeds of this year’s event go to Lake Regional Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, which serves more than 3,000 patients each year.

“We thank the weekend’s sponsors, golfers and volunteers for their generous support,” said Dane W. Henry, chief executive officer of Lake Regional Health System. “The funds raised will help Lake Regional Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation purchase a new heart monitoring system that will double the number of new patients we can accept into the program. It’s inspiring to see our community come together to support exceptional local health care.”

The annual HK’s Hospital Benefit Golf Tournament has raised more than $3 million since its start. Areas of Lake Regional Hospital that have benefited from past tournaments include the Outpatient Services, Sleep Center, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Family Birth Center, Cancer Center, Wound Healing Center, Orthopedic Surgery, Laboratory, Step Down Unit and Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The tournament, traditionally held the first full weekend in June, was established by Harold Koplar, founder of The Lodge of Four Seasons.

“We’re pleased to support the hospital,” said Susan Brown of Four Seasons Companies and HK’s Tournament Committee co-chair. “Access to quality care is essential to the quality of life of our residents and our many visitors.”

Sponsors who donated $1,000 received complimentary tickets for a VIP/Celebrity Party on the Rooftop on Friday evening at The Lodge of Four Seasons. On Saturday, more than 300 people attended the Meet the Chiefs Live and Silent Auction, where items up for bid included jewelry, golf packages, vacations, sports memorabilia and more.

On Sunday, more than 170 golfers played The Cove Golf Course — the Lodge’s signature course designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr.

“Thanks to the community for again showing us extraordinary support,” Brown said. “We could not be successful without our generous sponsors, donors, golfers and volunteers. We also are grateful to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Chiefs Ambassadors, who are always major contributors to the tournament.”

Brown also thanked the event co-chairs Cecilia Thomson and Walter White. Mark your calendar for the 41st Annual HK’s Hospital Benefit Golf Tournament, scheduled June 7–9, 2019. To learn more, visit
