A seven year old boy was among three injured in a multi-vehicle collision Friday evening in Morgan County.
Jackson A. Kilmer, 7, of Fortuna received injuries described as moderate in the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. He was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. Kaylene L. Kilmer, 20, of Fortuna and Mattie C. James, 32, of Versailles each received minor injuries. Kaylene Kilmer was taken by private vehicle to Lake Regional Hospital. James refused medical attention.
The crash occurred around 6:45 p.m. July 20, 2018 on Highway 52 at Highway 5 east junction.
Kaylene Kilmer was the driver of an eastbound 2003 Buick Lesabre that attempted to turn left on Highway 5 North from Highway 52. The Buick turned into the path of a westbound 2005 Ford F150 driven by Samuel B. Cummins, 27, of Versailles, according to the report. The pickup struck the car, and upon impact, the Buick rotated and struck a southbound 2010 Chevrolet Silverado. The Silverado had been stopped at the stop sign on Highway 5. Jakob H. Halphin, 19, of Oak Grove, Missouri was the driver of the Silverado.
James was a passenger in the Ford F150.
The report described the Buick as totaled, and it was towed from the scene. The pickups were driven from the scene with moderate damage to the Ford and minor to the Chevrolet.
According to the report, Kaylene and Jackson Kilmer were both in safety devices during the crash as was Halphin. Cummins and James were not wearing seatbelts.
