An Oklahoma woman was injured in a PWC accident on Lake of the Ozarks Sunday afternoon.
Cathy L. Duke of Tulsa received injuries described as serious in the Missouri State Highway Patrol incident report. The 57-year-old was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital.
Duke was a passenger on 1997 Kawasaki personal watercraft driven by Kurt E. Weissenbach, 58, of Moreno Valley, California.
Operating near the 8 mile marker of the Osage Arm in Easter Hollow Cove, the PWC was leaving the cove when they encountered a large wave, the report states, causing the Duke to impact the vessel.
The pair were wearing lifejackets, according to the report.
A Florida man was injured in a waterskiing accident on Lake of the Ozarks Sunday evening.
Zachary O. Staton of Stafford, Florida received injuries described as moderate in the Missouri State Highway Patrol incident report. The 21-year-old was taken by private conveyance to Lake Regional Hospital.
The report stated Staton was trying to jump the wake of the vessel that was pulling him and injured his leg.
The 2005 Supra was driven by Drake A. Duckworth, 26, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. The incident occurred at 7:30 p.m. July 1, 2018 at the 0.5 mile marker of the Little Niangua Arm.
