Free Family Fun!!!!

Somehow the kickoff to the 2018 CAN-AM Police and Fire Games is only a little over a month away. The committees have been working hard to make this event a success, not only for those Police, Fire, and EMS personnel coming to the area but also for you and your family.

All of the events over the week are designed for you and your family to watch and enjoy, at NO COST. We will publish a complete list of events with times and locations as we get closer to the games. Currently we have emergency responders representing 27 states and six countries and many of these events will be fun to watch. With so many going on we will also provide the list of the events that will feature some of the most unique competitions that you will not want to miss, Toughest Firefighter Alive and Toughest Competitor Alive or two of these events, more to come on this later.

The 2018 games will open with a Celebration on Monday June 25, 7 p.m. at Ozark Amphitheater in Camdenton, Missouri.

Opening Ceremonies however are designed with you in mind; you won’t want to miss this one. The evening will start at 7 p.m. with a “Carnival” style theme for the children to enjoy. Your kids will have fun in our petting zoo, Staff for Life Helicopter, face painting, pirate & clowns, games and other surprises. There will be a dunking booth with local dignitary’s sitting in the booth, this will be the only activity that requires a small donation, however all proceeds go directly to Special Olympics MO. The evening then will move into the Opening Ceremonies, this will begin at 8:15 in the Amphitheatre. This Ceremony will include Fire Department Honor Guard Posting the Colors of both United States and Canada, the singing of both National Anthems, Pipes and Drums, Ringing of the Bell Ceremony honoring those Police, Fire and EMS lost in the Line of Duty, The Procession of the Torch and Lighting of the Cauldron and finally will end the evening with a Fire Works Display. There will be another “event” during the ceremony, but this will stay a surprise until that evening.

So put this date and time on your calendar, grab the family and friends and join us for a night of fun and celebration. Best of all there is no charge for entry or the, the Carnival, or the Ceremonies.
