A Versailles man was injured after falling out of a vessel on the Lake of the Ozarks Monday afternoon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Boating Incident report described his injuries as serious.

Charles C. Dowell was taken by ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City for treatment.

The 61-year-old was a passenger in a 1986 Ranger Bass Boat who fell over the starboard side after tripping on a seat, according to the report. The operator of the boat — Charles C. Dowell, 41, of Versailles — pulled the passenger out of the water.

The incident occurred at the 9 mile marker of the Gravois Arm at 3:44 p.m. April 23, 2018.

The report indicated both men were wearing lifejackets.
