It is with great sadness that the family of Elaine Francis Bishop announces her passing. Elaine was granted her angel wings on April 15, 2018. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Elaine was born January 21, 1953 in Macomb, Illinois, to Earl Schlegel and Iris (Burton) Schlegel.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jack W. Bishop Jr. She has always been the BEST MOM EVER to four children — eldest, Thomas Bishop and fiancée Joni (Rhodes) of Raytown, Missouri; Jessica Parr and husband Jason of Eugene, Missouri; Tyler Bishop and wife Jenna of Camdenton, Missouri; Sirena Bishop and soulmate Shaun Bates of Lebanon, Missouri; sisters Lynette Pierson of Tyler, Texas and Diane Schlegel of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; step sister Julie Davis of Macomb, Illinois and step brother Jerry Davis of Macomb, lllinois.
Elaine is preceded in death by her father Earl Schlegel, mother Iris Davis, step-father Sterling Davis, and mother-in-law Jean Bishop.
Elaine was a fun and loving "GRANNY" to all eight grandkids, Lauren Bishop (K-State), Kaitlyn Bishop (Olathe North High School/ KU), William "Billy" Parr (Eugene High), Trenton Parr (Eugene High), Caitlyn Bishop (Camdenton High), Conner Bishop (Oak Ridge Intermediate), Camryn Bishop (Dogwood Elementary) and Alexis Bates (Fairview Elementary).
Elaine had a special way with her family through all times of the cycle we call LIFE. She was always there for any and all family members through the rough times and the great times. She had that mothering instinct and encouraging words; she always seemed to call or stop by at the right time.
Elaine had an attitude and smile that seemed to carry people sometimes from day to day. She had laughs and giggles with so many people that she worked around or customers. Elaine truly was a beautiful person.
Elaine was well traveled during her life having the opportunity to live in Denver, Colorado; Phoenix, Arizona; Waco, Texas; and Macomb, Illinois. After which she and Jack settled in the Lake of the Ozarks area in 1989. Elaine held a few jobs where she enjoyed working with the public. She is well known from the Decaturville One Stop, Lake View Resort in Sunrise Beach, Parr's Corner Market of Mary’s Home and most recently Deepwater Inn of Hurricane Deck, Sunrise Beach.
Elaine had several hobbies that she enjoyed including work, spending time with her family, camping, working in the yard and spending time at the family cabin on the Mississippi River with Jack and her sisters.... But her most favorite of all was the ocean on a cruise ship.
