Lymphedema 101

This is a one-hour course for patients at risk of developing lymphedema because of a medical condition, surgery or cancer treatment. Childbirth 101 

Osage Beach - 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, Lake Regional Hospital, third floor conference rooms -

In this class, women receive the tools they need to develop their own personal birth experiences. Pregnant women and their coaches explore childbirth options; learn about the stages of labor; practice breathing and relaxation techniques; and receive access to an online, interactive book, “Understanding Birth,” which they can use at home. The class is free, but registration is required. Mothers who attend all three Lake Regional courses for expectant families — Bright Beginnings; Childbirth 101; and Baby, Breast-feeding & Beyond — and deliver at Lake Regional receive a free car seat. Grief Support Group

This support group helps participants move through grief caused by various losses, including illness, death, divorce and other difficult life events. Call Billye Bennett, Lake Regional’s education coordinator, at 573-302-2737 for more information.

AHA Heartsaver CPR, AED, with Optional First Aid Course

8 a.m.–12 p.m. for CPR/AED and 12:30–3:30 p.m. for First Aid, Wednesday, April 11, Lake Regional Hospital, third floor conference rooms -

The morning session covers how to perform CPR on an adult, child and infant, and how to use an AED. If you also require first aid certification, stay for the afternoon session. Participants who demonstrate the skills taught in the course receive a Heartsaver CPR, AED, First Aid course completion card. The cost for CPR, AED (morning only) is $35; the cost for CPR, AED, First Aid (all day) is $60. Registration is required. to register, or call 573-348-8222.
