Camdenton has been named one of America’s favorite places, according to a new poll from Expedia.

One of the world’s leading travel companies, the Expedia Viewfinder blog features travel inspiration on destinations in the United States and around the world. The company recently polled 1,000 Americans about their favorite small town destinations across the U.S.

In the listing of top 25 places, Camdenton came in number 20, just one slot behind nearby Branson and one ahead of Saginaw, Michigan. The top five are Cape Cod, Massachusetts; Cooperstown, New York; Lake Tahoe, California; Toledo, Ohio; and Yuma, Arizona.

Referencing Camdenton’s tag as the Hub City of Lake of the Ozarks, the Expedia article covering the poll touts the natural beauty of the Lake of the Ozarks, Ha Ha Tonka State Park and Bridal Cave and, for entertainment, Ozarks Amphitheater.

“Nature sure knows how to put on a show here,” the article states.

This is not the first time the Lake of the Ozarks and surrounding environs have made national standings as a great travel destination.

In recent years, USA Today readers voted the Lake of the Ozarks the number one recreational lake in the country, and Ha Ha Tonka State Park, famous for its castle ruins, was voted fourth best state park in the country. The City of Versailles was also named a top small town by Country Living magazine.
