Child Advocacy Council’s Trivia Challenge and Auction is 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Tan-Tar-A’s Northwinds.
This is the CAC's major fundraising event of the year.
The cost is $20/person if registered before the day; $25/person at the door. Child advocates who want to compete can create a table of six, but individuals or couples can request to be added to a table.
Every spring, child advocates in the Lake area gather for fun but also to determine who knows the most trivia. Trivia Challenge has been sponsored by Child Advocacy Council since the early 90s. It provides an opportunity for tables of six to shine in competing to see who knows the most of those little irrelevant facts. A feature that has grown in popularity has been the silent auction which includes wine baskets, book baskets and baskets filled with toys and other miscellaneous items.
This year the students of Camdenton, Climax Springs, Horizons Alternative School and Macks Creek School have been asked to contribute questions for Trivia Challenge. Each school will also be provided a table for six of their students and/or staff to participate in Trivia Challenge. Of those four tables, the table with winning totals will be provided an additional scholarship to a graduating senior from their school courtesy of Child Advocacy Council.
Child Advocacy Council was created in 1979 when Missouri enacted statutes to identify and treat child abuse/neglect. The Council’s goal was and is to educate the public about the impact of abuse/neglect upon children, families and the community.
