Associate Commissioner Don Williams announced the possible update and upgrades to the Camden County website in a comment on the LakeNewsOnline Facebook page.

After months of waiting for the Camden County website to be updated, a commissioner may have a solution.

Changes could be coming to within days, according to Associate Commissioner Don Williams.

County officials have recently come under fire for the lack of attention to the website, including no posting of Camden County Commission meeting minutes since June 2016.

In a Facebook post on the Lake Sun's page at, Williams said, "regarding the county's website, I have spoken to a person who is willing to get it back in operation and back up to date as soon as possible - for free."

Williams’ post said the person was coming to meet with the commission and the work might be done as early as sometime next week.

The commission has come under fire in recent weeks by those upset that the website has not been working. Some sections of the website have not been updated since June 2016.

The county has had ongoing IT issues since certain IT equipment was confiscated during an FBI investigation in September 2016 for an alleged breach, but has been working with its current contractor, Huber and Associates, to resolve their problems.
