The Osage Beach Parks Department will be conducting a month-long online survey as it did this time last year to gain community support and/or input on a Phase 2 Enhancement project of Peanick Park in 2018.

Anyone interested in taking the survey can do so at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MMGHXYD.

The survey will run through the end of January.

The city will hold a public hearing regarding the project at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, during the regular board of aldermen meeting at the city hall for those that would like to speak in favor or against the project.

The city is applying for another grant in 2017 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund through Missouri State Parks to assist with the project. If approved by the board of aldermen, and if the grant is received, this project would include new bleachers behind Field 1, new batting cage surfacing, a new full size basketball court, a new pavilion to replace the existing one in disrepair, and new dugouts to accommodate teams much more appropriately on Field 2.  The application packet for this grant is due by Feb. 18.

"These projects are vital to the community, to the rehabilitation of Peanick Park, to our local little leagues, and to the tournaments we bring in through the summer that significantly add dollars to our local economy," Park Department Manager Matt Vandevoort said. "We look forward to the community’s support on this endeavor!"
