There are several events happening around the Lake area for Veteran's Day. Check out what's going on this week.

Patriotic Art Show
Artists and photographers in Central Missouri will share their patriotic works and compete for $1,400 in prizes in four categories. The exhibit is open to the public through November 11 from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. daily. The award ceremony with Honor Guard, entertainment, wine, cheese and hors d'oeuvres will be held at 3 p.m.on Nov. 11.

Camdenton Assembly
The Camdenton School District would like to invite all lake area Veterans and the community to the Veterans Day Assembly at 9:30 a.m. at the Camdenton High School on November 11. They will be seating Veterans for breakfast at 8 a.m. in the Gymnasium. For more information, call Dr. Paula Brown at 573-346-9257.

Osage Assembly
School of the Osage has announced an extensive program for Veterans Day at each of its schools.
Heritage Elementary, Nov. 11
• Breakfast for veterans and families at 8:30 a.m.
• Veterans will go to the classrooms at 9 a.m.
• Assembly will start at 9:30 a.m.
Upper Elementary, Nov. 11
• Choralettes performance at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, 9 a.m.; and Lakeside Meadows at 1:30 p.m.
Middle School
• Nov. 4 – 3:30 p.m., National Junior Honor Society memorial flag placement will take place in front of the Middle School Building. These flags will represent the nearly 500 veterans whose names have been submitted over the years for the school’s Veterans Honor Roll.
• Nov. 11 -- Veterans and their guests arrive early for the assembly for coffee and donuts in the commons. An assembly will once again feature tributes written and produced by OMS students, music from the middle school choir, a guest speaker and the memorial balloon release.
High School, Nov. 11
• 10:30 a.m., OHS Henderson Gymnasium
• Theme:  Honoring All Who Served:  In Times of War and In Times of Peace
• Student Speaker: Tia Baker, a senior at OHS and daughter of Lee and Denise Baker
• Guest Speaker: Darius Lackman

Veteran's Dance
The Lake Area Dance Association will be hosting its "Salute to Veteran's Dance" November 15 from 2-5 p.m. at the Community Christian Church in Camdenton. Current military or veterans who wear their uniforms get in free. Dance to the big band sound of the Lake Jazz Band. General admission is $10 per person and members are $6 per person. Bring a snack to share. For more information contact Carol Smith at 573-207-8179.

Free Meals
• Captain Ron's and Cannon Smoked Saloon are hosting free meals (select items) to all active duty or retired servicemen and women on November 11.
• RJ's in Camdenton is offering a free meal November 11 from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. to honor veterans and active military. Must present a military ID.
• Hy-Vee in Osage Beach will host a free breakfast buffet for all veterans and active military November 11 from 7 a.m.-11 a.m.
• CG's Mini Mart in Sunrise Beach will provide free breakfast November 11 from 6-10:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. to veterans.
•  The American Legion Zack Wheat Post 624 is hosting a free breakfast November 11 for veterans, police, EMTs and firefighters from 7-10:30 a.m. A ceremony will follow at 11 a.m.
• Dierberg's in Osage Beach will provide free breakfast to veterans on November 11.
