The Laurie-Sunrise Beach Rotary Club is holding its 9th annual Westlake Street Machine Fall Follies on Sept. 7 and 8 at the Laurie Fairgrounds.
The Laurie-Sunrise Beach Rotary Club is holding its 9th annual Westlake Street Machine Fall Follies on Sept. 7 and 8 at the Laurie Fairgrounds. The event is open to the public with lots of entertainment for the whole family. This event is not just “car buffs.” There will be duck races and the aquatic center and play area for the kids.
Daytime musical entertainment will be provided by Melani Biggers and evening music provided by Random Access. After dark we will be showing the movie "American Graffiti" and there will be fireworks. The beer garden will open day and night and food vendors will be available.
Cars, trucks, motorcycles and drag boats from all over the state will be attending. There will be awards and door prizes and a parade from the new Hurricane Deck Bridge to the Fairgrounds. Registration is $25. Admission for the public is $5 a person or $10 for a carload. Proceeds go to Laurie-Sunrise Rotary for the Westlake Aquatic Center and other community projects.
