Lived her entire life in Morgan County

Reva D. Alumbaugh, age 70, of Gravois Mills, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at her home.  She was the daughter of Hayden and Sadie Bland James.

 She was born and spent her entire life in Morgan County working at the Harbour, U.S. Lawn Products and the Western Hills Motel among others.  She was also a member of the West Union Baptist Church.

 Reva married Forrest “Shorty” Marple in 1960 and they had three sons, Forrest, Chuck and Bryan.  In 1967, Reva and sons were united in marriage with Robert “Red” Alumbaugh and made their family complete with a daughter, Diana. 

She is survived by her sons, Forrest Alumbaugh and wife Frances of Eldon, Claude “Chuck” Alumbaugh of Gravois Mills and Bryan Alumbaugh of Tipton; daughter, Diana Morris and husband David of Gravois Mills; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne James, Melvin James and Dale Edward James, her sisters, Wanita Christian and Mildred Marriott, daughter-in-law, Sheila Alumbaugh and a granddaughter, Melissa Sue Alumbaugh.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 7th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Tony Corado officiating.  Graveside services and interment will follow in the Versailles Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may be left online at  Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
