Dietician who loved cooking, gardening, sewing and being with her family

Mary Irene Hodge, 82, of Macks Creek, Mo., departed this life on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Windsor Estates, Camdenton, Mo.
Mary was born April 19, 1929, in Climax Springs, Mo., the daughter of Wilmer and Eda (Park) Green.
She was united in marriage to John Henry Hodge on April 28, 1948, in Harrison, Ark., who preceded her in death in 1972.
Mary worked as a dietician for Camden Nursing Home in Harrisonville, Mo. In her spare time, she loved sewing, gardening and, especially, cooking. More than anything, she loved spending time with and caring for her loved ones. Mary was of the Baptist faith. She will be sorely missed by all.
Mary is survived by her two sons; John Hodge and wife, Gina, of Camdenton, Mo., and Kenneth Hodge of Macks Creek, Mo.; three daughters, Dinah Alfaro of Columbia, Mo., Shirley Hanneman and husband, Mike, of Raymore, Mo., and Linda Townsend and  husband, Edgar, of Clinton, Mo.; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; three sisters,  Joann Linton of Macks Creek, Mo., Jean King and husband, Jim, of Milford, Kan., and Edna Preciado and husband, Charlie, of Claremore, Okla., along with several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Cody; one grandson, Dewayne Townsend; five brothers and one sister.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Macks Creek, Mo. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. prior to service time at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, Mo.
