John Boone, Russell Sharp and Jay Fisher are candidates for the Morgan County Collector's spot.

John Boone, Dem.

Political Experience Boone served on the school board in Keokuk, Iowa for two terms and is now in his second year on the Rocky Mount Fire Protection District board of directors.

Profession While he retired from Marketing & Management Corporation of America, in which he oversaw marketing in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska, Boone now works in real estate and as an auctioneer

Outside Activities Boone likes to hunt but said he doesn't ever seem to get to go anymore.

In Their Own Words "I'm hardworking. When I set out to a job, I like to get it finished. Even though I'm retired, I still like to do two or three things at the same time."

Vote For Me Because Boone believes Morgan County needs to get more "bang for its buck."
“There's a lot of people paying a lot of taxes who aren't getting the services we should be getting, especially in eastern and southeastern parts of the county,” and he says he would like to straighten that out.

Boone adds that money is being wasted and overused in some places to the detriment of other parts of the county. While he is on the Democrat ticket, Boone said he is actually an Independent but had to sign up as either a Democrat or a Republican because the state doesn't recognize the Independent Party at this level and there were already two on the Republican ticket.
