LOREDC awards three
The annual meeting of the Lake of the Ozarks Regional Economic Development Council was held today at the Inn at Grand Glaize in Osage Beach.
Representatives were on hand from the counties of Camden, Miller and Morgan, the cities of Camdenton, Eldon, Lake Ozark, Laurie, Osage Beach, Sunrise Beach and Versailles in addition to the Lake Area Chamber, the Camdenton Area Chamber, Eldon Area Chamber and the Lake West Chamber, the Bagnell Dam Strip Association, Lake Regional Health Services, AmerenUE, Co-Mo Electric Cooperative and State Fair Community College to update the group on economic development for their respective area.
Guest speakers included Randy Allen of Missouri CORE and the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce, Jason Ramsey from the Missouri State Treasurer’s Office and Mark Stombaugh from the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
The annual awards were presented as follows:
2009 Business Partner of the Year was awarded to Central Bank of Lake of the Ozarks. Greg Gagnon, CEO and President, accepted the award. Central Bank has demonstrated exemplary community involvement and support for many years throughout the entire Lake area. Mr. Gagnon stated Central Bank feels it is important to be partners with the various organizations in the region and they have made a significant investment in the community. He was pleased to announce that Central Bancompany had been recognized by Forbes as one of the Top 10 Best Performing Banks.
2009 Business Person of the Year was awarded to Doug Stockton of Stockton’s Pub & Grill/Cold Stone Creamery. As the owner of two local businesses in Osage Beach, Doug Stockton has made a considerable donation of time and resources to those in need – from fundraisers for the YMCA to supporting our military men and women with special tribute events. His generosity is appreciated and benefits many in our area.
2009 Emerging Enterprise of the Year was awarded to Argosy Console, an Eldon-based company. David Atkins, President, accepted the award. Argosy Console demonstrates the utilization of emerging technology and innovation with the design and construction of state-of-the-art products from console enclosures to studio furniture for a global market.
