The Missouri Highway Patrol is advising residents to be wary of frozen ponds and other bodies of water as temperatures rise and fall. While a cove or pond may appear to be frozen solid, a trek across the ice can turn into or serious or even fatal situation.

Lake-area residents have until March 12 to register for the upcoming April election.Historically, April has a voter turnout of no more than 15 percent. In April 2013, Camden County saw a voter turnout of less than 12 percent.
