District assignments revealed

Local high school basketball and wrestling squads learned who their district opponents will be this season as the Missouri State High Schools Activities Association (MSHSAA) released class and district assignments for its winter sports, including boys and girls basketball, boys and girls wrestling.

This is the second year MSHSAA has classified boys and girls basketball separately. Some schools will have different districts, or in some cases different classifications.

Camdenton’s Lakers and Lady Lakers have been assigned to Class 5, District 5. District opponents will be: Capital City, Helias, Jefferson City, Pacific, Union, Warrensburg and Washington.

The Lady Lakers are also in Class 5, District 5, but their foes will be Capital City, Helias, Jefferson City, Pacific and Rolla

The Osage Indians and Lady Indians will be in the same district number, only with different opponents.

The Osage boys will be in Class 4, District 10 with Bolivar, Buffalo, Osage, Springfield Catholic and Strafford. The Lady Indians will also be in Class 4, District 10, but with Blair Oaks, Eldon, Owensville and So. Boone.

Wrestling

In wrestling, the Laker have been assigned to Class 3. District 3. Camdenton will compete against:  Bolivar, Branson, Carl Junction, Hillcrest, Jefferson City, Marshfield, McDonald County, Pacific High School, Parkview High School, Rolla ,  Union, Washington, Webb City High School and West Plains.

In girls wrestling, the Lady Mustangs are in Class 3, District 3 at Belton with:  Belton, Branson, Carthage High School, Central (Springfield) , Glendale, Joplin, Kickapoo, Lebanon, Lee's Summit West, Neosho, Nixa, Ozark , Parkview, Raymore-Peculiar , Republic, Rolla, Smith-Cotton, Waynesville, Webb City and Willard. Host sites for the district tournaments will be released at a later date.

Assignments for girls swimming and diving will also be released later.
