Bob’s Bad Boys and Girls 8-ball team was “badder than Leroy Brown” last weekend.
The team, featuring players Janet Mabe, George Miller, Carol Lundt, Chris Rickey, Jason Rickey, Nacol Rickey, Denise Schnoor and Bobby Stringer; won the American Poolplayers Association Southwest Missouri Regional Championship, held at J-Town Billiards in Joplin, Mo.
Their come-from-behind victory enabled the team to participate in the APA National 8-ball Tournament in Las Vegas on August 24-29.
The team hopes to bring back a national title and trophy for themselves and their sponsors, Rick and Alma Escobedo, owners of Tortilla Flats Restaurant in Sunrise Beach.
