The lake level was 658.0 (660 is normal pool level). With minimum generation scheduled it should hold at 658.0 through the weekend. The surface temperature at Bagnell Dam is 45 degrees and 32 to 42-degrees upstream depending on the location, time of day and air temperature. Night temperatures below freezing will cause some shallow areas to ice over.
LARGEMOUTH AND SPOTTED BASS – No major tournaments were scheduled last weekend. Lower Osage: Very good on jerkbaits. Glaize Arm: Fair upstream. Try jigs or suspending crankbaits along dropoffs. Mid-Lake: Fair, try square-billed crankbaits and spinnerbaits around bluffs or chunk rock, especially for spotted bass. Niangua Arm: Fair, try a white or chartreuse Blakemore Rock’n Runner or Bomber Flat ‘A’ around docks and secondary points. Gravois Arm: Very good on jerkbaits. Upper Osage: Fair, try square-billed crankbaits around docks between main and secondary points. Also try jigs and jerkbaits. Osage 60 MM: Fair, try finesse jigs and jerkbaits on points.
CRAPPIE – Lower Osage: Excellent, try jigs 10 to 30-feet deep around brush. Glaize Arm: Excellent, try jigs or minnows 10 to 30-feet deep around brush. Mid-Lake: Fair, try pink-and-white or black-and-chartreuse jigs or minnows 12 to 18-feet deep over brush. Niangua Arm: Fair, try Blakemore Road Runners or minnows under slip bobbers alongside dock brush. Gravois Arm: Excellent, try jigs or minnows 10 to 30-feet deep around brush. Upper Osage: Fair on minnows 8-feet deep over brush. Most fish are short. Osage 60 MM: Very good on dark colored single-tail jigs fished 10 to 12-feet deep. Truman Dam Tailwater: Good on white or chartreuse jigs or minnows.
WHITE AND HYBRID BASS – Lower Osage: No reported fish. Glaize Arm: Poor, look for fish running shad on windy main lake points. Mid-Lake: Poor, try Road Runners or Worden’s Rooster Tails on windy main lake points. Niangua Arm: Fair at times with Road Runners or Rooster Tails on windy points. Gravois Arm: No reported fish. Upper Osage: Fair around islands, points and in the main channel. Try Vibric Rooster Tails. Osage 60 MM: No reported fish, try Rooster Tails on windblown points. Truman Dam Tailwater: Fair for whites on Slab Hunters.
WALLEYE – Niangua Arm: No reported fish. Gravois Arm: No reported fish. Truman Dam Tailwater – Fair, try a finesse jig and 3-inch plastic on pea gravel.
CATFISH – Lower Osage: No reported fish. Glaize Arm: Fair on juglines baited with perch 10-feet deep. Mid-Lake: Fair on nightcrawlers or shad halfway back in coves. Niangua Arm: No reported fish. Gravois Arm: Poor for blue cats on cut shad. Upper Osage: Poor to fair using trotlines baited with perch 10-feet deep. Osage 60 MM: Fair nightcrawlers fished on tightlines off docks 10 to 15-feet deep. Osage 89 MM: Poor to fair on shad. Truman Dam Tailwater: Fair on shad.
BLUEGILL – Poor, try nightcrawler pieces, Berkley’s Gulp Earthworm or pieces of Gulp! Alive! Minnows around docks.
NOTE: The Lower Osage is from the dam to the 22-mile mark; Mid-Lake is between the 22 and 38-mile marks; the Upper Osage is between the 38 and 55-mile marks; the Osage 60 MM is between the 55-mile mark and the 89-mile mark; and the 89 MM is between the 89 MM and the Rt. 65 Bridge.
