Things looked like they might be OK in the first half of Osage's game against the Glendale Falcons on Tuesday, but a third-quarter barrage buried the Indians.
After going into the half down 39-28 against a good Ozark Conference team, the Indians didn't have the same spark in the second half.
Glendale jumped out with a 10-3 run to open the half before an Osage timeout. Things didn't get any better after that, however, as Glendale finished the quarter on a 19-4 to go into the final quarter up 68-35. A similarly rough fourth quarter led to an 84-37 Glendale victory.
Cody Brown led Osage with 10 points, while Dylan McNerney and Spencer Webb each scored 8. Al Mistler added 7.
Webb led the team with 6 rebounds.
Junior forward Tommy Hedges led Glendale with 29 points, including 16 in the third quarter. He was joined in double figures by Blake Freedman with 15 and Mason Hodges with 11.
However, the most dangerous player on the floor for Glendale might have been 5-foot-5 sophomore point guard Nolan Bettlach, who diced up the Indians with 9 assists, and another handful of "hockey assists" in which he set up the assisted play.
Osage is now 0-7 on the season and will be out of action until Jan. 4 when they hit the Stover Tournament.
