It wasn't pretty, but it was a win, and the Camdenton Lakers opened their conference play with a win Friday night, beating Parkview 50-41.
Both teams were slow to score out of the gate, with Parkview leading 8-7 after one quarter of play.
It would pick up a little bit, but not much, as neither team had 30 points by the fourth quarter.
With a slim 29-28 lead heading into the final period, Camdenton slowly started to pull away.
The Lakers outscored the Vikings 21-13 in the final quarter to seal the victory.
Alex Fowler was the only Laker in double figures with 12 points. Kyle Simpson and Jake Williams each scored 8, and Jake Kirtley added 6 for Camdenton.
Jordan Hitchcock of Parkview led all scorers with 18, and Korry Tillery was the other Viking in double figures with 12.
The Lakers return to action Tuesday when they travel to Jefferson City to take on the Jays.
