Once again, the Camdenton girls' defense was too much for their opponents to handle, as the Lady Lakers evened their conference record to 1-1 with a win in Joplin.
The Lakers held a 24-16 lead at halftime, before wearing down Joplin with their defense.
It was a nearly perfectly executed defense, too, as the Lakers only allowed Joplin to shoot six free throws in the game, with four of those coming in the fourth quarter after the game had been all but decided.
"Anytime you can hold an opposing team to six free throws on the road, that speaks volumes about the defense," head coach Patty Thorne said.
Though the offensive output wasn't overwhelming, the Lakers were surely pleased with their balance, as five different players scored at least six points.
Nickie Branting and Latea LaRue tied for the team lead with 10 points each.
