Osage's Chase Grosvenor becomes Tri-County Conference champion and Indian girls win second straight conference title

School of the Osage was able to bring home some conference hardware Thursday night.

The Indians were in Eldon with Versailles and the rest of the Tri-County Conference to settle conference bragging rights and the Osage girls won their second straight Tri-County Conference team title while Chase Grosvenor won his first conference championship in the boys' race.

Not a bad night for the Indians indeed as they finished with numerous All-Conference honors as well.

The Osage girls finished first out of three teams with 29 points, topping Eldon (74) and Hallsville (109). On the boys' side Osage finished second out of six teams with 72 points, trailing only California (44), while Eldon finished sixth with 120 points. Versailles did not have enough runners to qualify for team finishes. 

Osage's Chase Grosvenor led the pack in the boys' race and crossed the finish line first with a time of 17:14. John Markovitz finished eighth at 17:48, Harrison Adams placed 17th at 18:38, Cooper Vickers took 21st at 19:07, Ryan Page earned 25th at 19:21, Caysen Kenney placed 41st at 20:48 and Evan O'Shea took 51st at 23:27.

The Osage girls were led by Micah Hill who finished second with a time of 20:57. Sara Wolf was right behind her with a third place time of 21:09, Nevaeh Henley took fifth at 21:21, Sarah Porter was sixth at 21:31, Alana Douglas came in 13th at 23:45, Grace Martin took 16th at 24:05 and Destin Allen finished 18th at 24:27.

Eldon times were not yet available, but the Mustangs came away with multiple runners who earned All-Conference recognition. In the boys' race, Caleb Martonfi finished fourth while the girls featured Lauren Imler who placed third to lead the way while Nicole Reynolds earned 11th and Kelsey Wallis finished 12th.

Versailles was led by All-Conference runners Allison Taylor and Carmen Lemell in the girls' race. Taylor finished 10th with a time of 22:31 while Lemell finished 14th at 23:55. The Tiger boys were paced by Seth Newton at 19:46 who finished 30th while Noah Dykzeul was right behind him in 31st at 20:05, Jacob Schrock took 32nd at 20:06 and Trent Hyman earned 46th at 21:50.

School of the Osage was scheduled to race at St. Francis Borgia on Saturday, Versailles will visit Vienna for its last regular season meet on Monday at 4 p.m., and Eldon will take a trip to Mexico on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
