TO NOTE

The Lower Osage is from the dam to the 22-mile mark; Mid-Lake is between the 22 and 38-mile marks; the Upper Osage is between the 38 and the Rt. 65 Bridge.

WALLEYE

No reported fish.

BLUEGILL

Excellent, fish have spawned, look for them around docks at least 6 feet deep. Try nightcrawler pieces, Berkley’s Gulp Alive Cricket or Crawler pieces.

CRAPPIE

Lower Osage: Fair to good with minnows fished 15 feet deep. Glaize Arm: Good on jigs tipped with Bobby Garland’s Electric Chicken colored soft plastics. Gravois Arm: Good along docks 5 to 10-feet deep over brush. Mid-Lake: Good, try jigs tipped with crappie nibbles around main lake docks. Niangua Arm: Fair to good, crappies are just off the banks in front of spawning areas, try trolling small crankbaits or casting one-eighth ounce jigs. Upper Osage: Excellent shooting docks with jigs. Truman Tailwater: Fair with jigs or minnows, most fish are small.

CATFISH

Lower Osage: Excellent on cut bait. Glaize Arm: Good, try deep coves with cut bait. Gravois Arm: Good, try shad sides. Mid-Lake: Excellent on jugs baited with live perch, fish are 20 feet deep. Niangua Arm: Excellent early and late around docks. Little Niangua River: No reported fish. Upper Osage: Very good on cut shad. Truman Tailwater: Good on live bait for blue and white catfish when the water is running.

BLACK BASS

Ed and Christine Vasel won the Wednesday Nite tourney with 12.29 pounds; they had Big Bass at 5.59 pounds. Bagnell Tailwater: Good, most are spotted bass. Try Eakins finesse jigs with watermelon green or green pumpkin soft plastic trailers. Lower Osage: Poor to fair, look for fish chasing shad halfway back in coves. During the day try main lake points with dropshot rigs or 10.5 inch Zoom worms fished in brush. Glaize Arm: Fair, 10-inch red shad colored Berkley Power Worms on main lake points during afternoon and evenings. Gravois Arm: Fair, try crankbaits and drop shots on rocky banks and ledges. Mid-Lake: Fair, try small plastic worms or jigs tipped green pumpkin colored soft plastics or try Bass Pro Shops Stik-O Worm wacky rigged around steep banks and points. Niangua Arm: Fair on 10-inch red shad colored Power Worms fished on main lake and secondary points; also try Texas-rigged lizards in the same areas. Little Niangua River: No reported fish. Upper Osage: Good to very good on 10 inch plastic worms fished shallow in the Hurricane Deck area.

WHITE AND HYBRID BASS

Lower Osage: Good when you find them, try vertical jigging deeper points. Glaize Arm: Poor, watch for them to chase shad on windblown points. Gravois Arm: Poor, try Rat-L-Traps on deep points. Mid-Lake: Fair to good, try deep vertical jigging on points when current is present. Niangua Arm: Good when you find them, try vertical jigging Dixie Jet spoons over points and deep flats where shad are present. Little Niangua River: No reported fish. Upper Osage: Look for them pushing shad in open water and try trolling Arkies 200 or 300 series crankbaits. Truman Tailwater: Fair with jigs, topwaters or spoons when water is running.
