Eldon’s Hull captures 2nd place in age group
The final day of the 2018 Missouri Junior Amateur Championship took place on Tuesday at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield and a couple of Lake area players earned their spots among the top as Camdenton’s Amber Wilson and Eldon’s Kassidy Hull both finished in the top three of their respective divisions.
Similar to round one, there was a morning wave with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m., then an afternoon wave with tee times beginning at noon. Players had to face yet another day of high temperatures, but overall, scores were good.
For our female 14-15 division, our overall winner was Audrey Rischer of Columbia with a wonderful two-day score of (81-75-156) amongst a group of 12 golfers. Coming in second place was Kassidy Hull of Eldon who posted a (77-80-157). Lastly, coming in third place was Ella Overstreet of Jackson, Mo., who carded a (87-78-165).
For our female 16-18 division, our overall winner out of 27 golfers was Amber Wilson with a striking two-day score of (68-74-142) from Camdenton, Mo. Coming in second place was Claire Solovic who turned in a (77-69-146) from Imperial, Mo., and coming in third place was Olivia Sowers with a score of (73-75-148) from Columbia.
In the male 8-9 division, our overall winner was Anson Munzlinger with an outstanding two-day score of (31-32-63) from Columbia amongst a field of four. Coming in second place was Ty Brandt who shot a (36-37-73) from Jefferson City and our third-place winner was Bryan Carden who put up a (46-43-89) from Jefferson City as well.
For our male 10-11 division, our overall winner was Will Kimes with a great two-day score of (43-40-83) from Columbia amongst a group of eight. In second place was Dawson Schnieders with a (44-43-87) from Jefferson City and finally, our third place winner was Marco Boccardi with a (45-44-89) from Fenton, Mo.
For our male 12-13 division, our overall winner among 10 golfers was Quinn Thomas with an outstanding two-day score of (73-73-146) from Hannibal, Mo. Coming in second place was Archer Schnieders with a (72-79-151) from Jefferson City and our third place winner was Patrick Johnston who posted a (73-79-152) from St. Joseph, Mo.
In the male 14-15 division, our overall winner was Jeffrey Johnston with an even two-day score of (70-74-144) from St. Joseph, Mo. Coming in second place was Carsen Silliman who carded a (73-73-146) from Jackson, Mo. In third place was a three-way tie between Drew Higgins with a (75-77-152) from Jefferson City, Ben Slicker with a (81-71-152) from Leawood, Kan., and Braden Hoisington with a (75-77-152) from Dardenne Praire, Mo. Eldon’s Aidan Wells placed 14th amongst a field of 16 with a (83-85-168).
Last but not least, the overall winner in the male 16-18 division was Hank Lierz with an impressive two-day score of (68-68-136) from St. Joseph, Mo. Coming in second place was Brooks Jungbluth who turned in a (68-69-137) from St. Joseph, Mo., and coming in third was Jack Rundle who posted a (70-69-139) from Jefferson City. Meanwhile, Ethan Kline of Osage Beach tied for 30th amongst a group of 57 with a (74-78-152).
