Osage takes down Richland in districts
Osage went to battle with Richland in the first round of the Class 1 District 8 tournament on Monday and the Indians advanced in team district play with a 5-2 win over the Bears.
It began with solid doubles play as the Indians swept all three doubles matches for the first time this season. The teams of Grant Naudet and Tony Floyd, Logan Havner and Mitchell Turner and Drew Elley and Steven Crosby were all winners while Naudet won in singles 6-3, 6-4 and Havner earned a 7-4 tiebreaker.
Osage (5-10) was scheduled to take on host Helias in the district semifinals on Tuesday and will also be taking on individual districts over the weekend in Jefferson City as well.
Camdenton drops district match to Lebanon
Camdenton began its postseason on Monday in the Class 2 District 10 team tournament and it was a tough day for the Lakers as they fell 5-3.
The doubles team of Keaton Meyer and Drew Van Hook were 8-5 winners while Rocky Jennings won his singles match 6-4, 6-1 and Van Hook finished his day unbeaten with a singles win by final scores of 6-2, 6-1.
“Drew played his best tennis of the season at Lebanon,” Camdenton coach Kirk Richey said.
The season is not done yet, though, as individual districts will get underway on Saturday in Camdenton.
