Mustang girls finish 9th out of 21 teams; boys finish 18th out of 21

A total of 21 teams descended on the state capitol Saturday morning for the Capital City Relays. 

Eldon was among those 21 schools and the Mustang girls finished the day ninth with 28 points while the Mustang boys claimed 18th with 11 points of its own. The hometown Jefferson City Jays swept the meet as the girls put up 121 points and the boys finished with 129.5.

Listed below are the top eight finishers who earned points for the Mustangs.

GIRLS' TRACK RESULTS

-4x100 Relay: Emma Hoback, Anna Herbert, Libby Cochran and Macie Halderman (T-7th) 54.6 seconds

GIRLS' FIELD RESULTS

-Shot Put: Hailey Clifton (2nd) 38 feet and 6.5 inches and Taylor Henderson (8th) 33-00

-Discus: Hailey Clifton (1st) 128-03

-High Jump: Lauren Imler (T-6th) 4-10

-Long Jump: Macie Halderman (T-8th) 15-02

-Triple Jump: Macie Halderman (4th) 33-04 1/2

BOYS' TRACK RESULTS

-200-Meter Dash: Trenton Phillips (2nd) 23.59 seconds

-4x100 Relay: Cole Walker, Trenton Phillips, Isaiah Merida and Dawson Brandt (6th) 45.41 seconds

BOYS' FIELD RESULTS

-Shot Put (Pentathlon): Gabriel Marriot (7th) 9.72 meters

-High Jump (Pentathlon): Gabriel Marriot (8th) 1.61 meters

Eldon will return to action on Tuesday when the Mustangs visit Osage for a meet at 4 p.m.
