Versailles boys capture first place

Pleasant weather on Wednesday allowed track and field athletes to stretch their legs and compete at the Skyline Invitational on Wednesday afternoon.

Among the schools competing were Versailles and Macks Creek as the Tigers and Pirates went to battle with 18 other schools.

When every event was completed, the Versailles boys ran away with the competition and finished first in decisive fashion with 162.5 points and 62.5 points better than Crocker, which finished second with 100. Macks Creek came in 18th place with three points of it own. In girls’ competition, Warsaw won the meet with 87 points while Versailles took sixth with 60 points and macks Creek placed 13th with 14 points respectively.

Versailles was back in action at the Maroon and Gold Relays at Eldon on Thursday and the Tigers will take a trip to Sedalia Smith-Cotton on Monday. Meanwhile, Macks Creek will visit Ash Grove on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
