Versailles would not be denied in a road trip to Buffalo on February 8.
Regulation was not enough to decide it, but the Tigers took care of business and emerged with a 77-76 win over the Bison.
Taylor Dobbins made two crucial free throws to tie the game at the end of regulation with two seconds left on the clock. In the overtime period, Coby Williams came up with a big 3-point play with just eight seconds remaining as he made a layup while getting fouled and sunk the free throw to put his team ahead for good. Jonathon Geier secured the rebound on Buffalo’s ensuing shot to end it.
Williams had 31 points to lead Versailles, Geier added 21, Wyatt Espinosa recorded 13 and Brayden Morrison finished with eight.
Versailles (11-11, 1-4 Tri-County Conference) will host Skyline on Monday at 6 p.m.
