The competition was tough on Saturday as the Lakers went to battle in the Springfield Invitational at Foster Natatorium where the highest finish among any individual Camdenton swimmer or relay team was 15th.
The first event of the day was the 200 Medley Relay where the team of Victoria Watson, Erin Leezer, Sasha Prather and Aubree Enos placed 18th with a time of 2:18. In the other relay events, the team of Victoria Turner, Watson, Irelyn Meckley and Emily Willis earned 16th at 1:56.34 in the 200 Free Relay while the team of Turner, Prather, Meckley and Willis finished 15th in the 400 Free Relay.
The individual events kicked off with the 200 Free and Willis was the fastest Laker with a 20th place time of 2:16.5. Turner finished 32nd at 2:24 and Prather took 52nd at 2:36.56.
In the 50 Free, Watson had the top Camdenton time, coming in 45th at 29.69 seconds while Meckley earned 51st at 30.23 seconds, Leezer 56th at 30.79 seconds and Enos 60th at 31.48 seconds.
Prather represented the Lakers in the 100 Fly with a 31st place time of 1:18.78 and Willis was the lone Laker to take on the 500 Free where she finished 17th at 6:09.56.
The 100 Free featured four Camdenton swimmers and Turner took 29th at 1:03.67, meckley 48th at 1:10.27, Emme Thompson 57th at 1:12.52 and Enos 61st at 1:14.24.
Last but not least, a duo of Lakers entered the pool for the 100 Breaststroke and Watson finished 44th at 1:33.69 while Thompson came in 50th at 1:37.81.
Camdenton will return to the pool at Foster Natatorium for the SWMO meet on Friday and Saturday. The prelims begin on Friday at 1 p.m., and the finals will start at the same time on Saturday.
