Macks Creek tops Montrose
Macks Creek took on Montrose in the W-K Shootout in Sedalia on December 27 at State Fair Community College and the Pirates edged out their foes by a final score of 52 to 48.
The Pirates jumped out to a 23-10 lead after the first quarter and the good start was needed as Montrose closed the gap.
“Our first quarter was probably one of the best quarters we have played all season,” Macks Creek coach Deidre Meade said. “They just need to be able to string more of those quarters together. Fortunately, we held on to win and improved to 5-4.”

Macks Creek was scheduled to play neighbor Climax Springs Tuesday night, but the Cougars chose to forfeit due to illness. Up next for the Pirates is the Skyline Tournament, which starts on Saturday and runs through January 13.
