It was a tough day on the court for Camdenton as the Lakers fell to Hartville 75 to 52 in the first round of the Blue and Gold Tournament Tuesday afternoon in Springfield.
Hartville opened up the contest with a 15-3 lead after the first quarter, held a comfortable 33-21 halftime lead and Camdenton could not find a way to make enough of a dent in the deficit.
The Lakers were led by Kelton Virtue who put up a team-leading 14 points on the day while teammate Austin Carter added 12 to help fuel the attack.
Camdenton falls to 1-7 with the loss and the Lakers were scheduled to face rival Lebanon in the consolation quarterfinals on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Should they have advanced, they will face the winner of Stockton and Skyline in the consolation semifinals on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
