Q: What are you looking forward to as your team returns for the 2017 season?
A: I’m looking forward to their continued growth this season. We learned so much as individuals and as a team last year, and we’re picking up right where we left off. I’m excited for the girls to set new personal records, compete with top-notch swimmers and improve overall.
Q: Are there any definite strengths with this team at this point in time?
A: Our greatest strengths are our size and experience. We had a small team last year, and we’ve doubled in numbers this year, which makes us more competitive against the other schools because we have more swimmers to score points. We also have a ton of experience on our team. We have most of our team from last season and a large number of very experienced freshmen.
Q: As the season goes along, what are you hoping the team can improve upon?
A: We are looking to improve overall this year, from general fitness to technique. My returners are looking to fine tune their strokes, drop time and score for our team.
Q: Are there any specific goals and what would you say the keys to success are for this year?
A: A couple specific goals for our team is to rank highly in the Ozark Conference and qualify for state. We have everything we need to achieve both. The path to success is simple: we need to train hard, improve technique, build strength and make each other better every opportunity that we have.
