Versailles took a trip up north to face Hallsville in Tri-County Conference action Friday night and it was a tough road trip for the Tigers as the Indians defended home turf with a 47-8 win.
The past couple of games between these two sides have been close with the last two being decided by single digits, but Hallsville jumped out to a quick 21-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back as the Indians put up 382 total yards of offense on the night. Versailles was kept off the scoreboard until senior running back Taylor Dobbins broke the silence with a touchdown run in the third quarter.
Dobbins led the ground game with 43 of the team's 91 total rushing yards and junior running back Michael Trotter added 31 yards respectively. Sophomore quarterback Coby Williams connected on 12 of his 29 pass attempts for 121 yards and two interceptions with seven of those passes going to senior wideout Kooper for 42 yards. Senior tight end Jonathon Geier pulled down two receptions for 29 yards of his own as well.
Versailles (2-6) will visit Southern Boone Friday night for the regular season finale at 7 p.m.
